Regular C-CAT meetings promote improved communication between Committees, Activities, and Teams. These meetings ensure input, interaction and participation from all PUUF groups for regular activities as well as special events. Committees are those groups that function with an operating budget approved by the Board. Activities are groups that meet to share a common interest. Teams are groups that perform specific functions like the Hospitality Team or the Building and Grounds Team.
Committee Chairs are required to attend C-CAT meetings. Team Leaders are encouraged to attend. Attendance by Activity contact persons is optional. The Minister and the Chair of the Committee on Ministry also attend the C-CAT meeting. Each committee is responsible for submitting a budget and monthly reports through the Finance Committee to the Executive Board.

The mission of the Caring Committee is to insure that the community responds to the personal needs or concerns of community members, including providing meals, rides, phone calls, cards, visits or a helping hand in a crisis. The outpouring of love and support in times of need is always spontaneous and generous in our congregation, to the outside world and within our own community.

The Green Sanctuary Program is our primary path to sustainability and stewardship of Earth. In accordance with the Seventh UU Principal on reverence for life and respect for the interdependent web of existence, the program focuses on improving our awareness of environmental issues within worship and celebration, religious education, sustainable living, and environmental justice. Projects are designed to promote growth in this area for the community and for individuals, and all are encouraged to participate in the activities when they are presented.

The Membership Committee provides greeters with smiling faces and welcoming hands to all who visit the Fellowship. Through the “Introduction to Unitarian Universalism” teas and “Pathway to Membership” groups we assist seekers to understand our liberal religious community. We help new members integrate into our community by answering questions and helping them make contact with others who share their interests.

Parents of children and youth are encouraged to participate as volunteer teachers on a rotating basis.

Shelter Helpers prepare and deliver home cooked meals (for 40 or 50 people) to the family shelter on Vista Way twice a month (all year around), on the first and third Wednesdays. We have two Shelter Helper teams consisting of one shopper, two or three cooks and two deliverers. People who are interested in volunteering for the family shelter are asked to join a team and participate each month for at least six months. In the winter, Palomar Fellowship also makes the extra commitment to deliver additional meals to the temporary winter shelter in Vista. People who are interested in bringing meals to the winter shelter can participate as often as they like.
